Russell was born August 31, 1933, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Wife Gerry Ann Brown Linker, parents Russell R. Linker and Doris Huben Linker and sister Betty Tomberlin all deceased. Survived by his children and spouses Russell R. Linker III and Paul A. Salter; Rick R. Linker and Kate Macie and daughter Dana Lee Linker.
He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Air Force as an attorney. After leaving the Air Force he and his father opened a private law practice, followed by a practice with his good friend Bill Northcutt. Later in his career he accepted a position as a city attorney for the City of Tulsa. He retired in 1998 and shortly thereafter became a trustee with Memorial Park Cemetery, of which he retired in 2022.
Russell was an active member of Harvard Avenue Christian Church, a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity and a member of Oklahoma Bar Association. He enjoyed traveling and helping his wife Gerry, an artist, exhibit her paintings at art shows around the region. He was an avid collector of antique toy soldiers and marbles. Russell enjoyed traveling with his family on vacations and later ocean cruises. Russell loved and had many dogs, especially Cairn Terriers.
