Ruth Bernice Cook was born November 14th, 1925 in Woodville, OK to Sim Carlton Cook and Carrie Lee Cook.
She married Raymond Paul Baldridge on July 2, 1943, and they were married for 71 years. Ruth was a homemaker and took care of her four children and her mother, whom was in a wheelchair for years. They bought their first home in Tulsa, and when Paul retired from American Airlines they bought a property by Lake Ft. Gibson in Wagoner, OK. They lived there until, eventually, moving to Silver Arrow Retirement Community in Broken Arrow, OK where Paul passed away at 88 in 2012. She then moved into her daughter Glenda's residence in Tulsa until her recent passing at the age of 95.
Ruth is preceded in death by: her daughter, Janora; her son, Paul Ray; and her husband, Paul Baldridge. She had four children: the oldest, Paul Ray; the twins, Glenda Mae and Linda Kaye; and the youngest; Janora Faye. She had four grandsons: Phil Stevens; Darin Emmons; and Eric and Brian Celeste. Her granddaughters were Tammy Baldridge and Kerri Emmons-Montgomery. Her great grandchildren were: Maddie Celeste; Austin Stevens; Whitney Emmons; Kyle Emmons; and Kelsi Batijoa. She also had step grandchildren: Natalie Macrae; and her children, Kellen and Diem.
Ruth was a homemaker and took care of the family, and was a wonderful cook. You never left her house without being offered some food. She made the best peach cobbler and peanut butter pie, as well as her delicious holiday stuffing. She was an avid water skier, and could take off from the bank on slalom, and was also a very good pool and poker player. She also loved to dance, and go to the casino. Video poker was her favorite game of choice. Ruth was a fighter, and strong willed woman, and we will always remember her that way. She was one of the strongest women, withstanding the loss of two of her children and her husband, long before she left this earth, and still kept going with a lot of spunk and energy. She recently told us that she was ready to go, and to always remember she loved us, and don't ever forget about her. We definitely won't. Ruth went to be with the lord on Friday December 11th, 2020. Since Ruth requested a simple goodbye; there will be a viewing at Moore Funeral Home- Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74145 on December 15th from 12-8 pm. There will also be viewing of her internment from our vehicles at 1:00 pm on December 16th at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
