Ruth Mildred Black, 86, passed away on June 6, 2019 in Tulsa, OK. She was born March 2, 1933 in Pottsville, AR to the late Edward Kinder and Dorothy Lettie (Tucker) Kinder. Later she was raised by Cecil T. Bozeman and her mother.
In 1950 Ruth graduated from Will Rogers High School and on September 1, 1950 she married John F. Black. They had two children and started Allen's TV and Appliances.
During her lifetime Ruth had several achievements: Business Woman's Club of Oklahoma's "Boss of the Year Award", Delta Epsilon's "Sweetheart Pledge of the Year," and numerous ballroom dancing competition awards. She was the sponsor for Teresa's cheerleading squad at Edison High School.
Ruth is predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother, Carroll Kinder. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Black) Hardy, and her husband, Richard; son, Eric Black and his wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Nikki Schultz and her husband, Zach, and Katherine Black; and great-grandsons, Jack and Zane Schultz.
Visitation will be 6-8PM, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home and the Funeral Service, 2PM, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in honor of Ruth to Trinity Episcopal Church's "Blessing of the Animals" Endowment Fund.
