Obituary

Ruth Sweet Marie Keating, age 93, passed away peacefully in her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 12, 2023. Ruth was born in Burns Flat, Oklahoma on February 4, 1930 to Dottie (McCoy) and Joel Coley. After graduating from Northwest Classen High School in 1948, she met Clinton B."Clint" Keating and they were married nine months later. They moved to Tulsa and started a family. Ruth worked for nine years at the phone company, then decided to stay home to raise their four children. Ruth was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling, bowling, and good food. She was an excellent cook and an avid reader of cookbooks. She loved bingo and music, especially Elvis. Ruth served in the La Sertoma Club as an active member/President for many years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Clint Keating, her father, Joel Coley, her mother, Dottie Coley, her brothers Bruce Coley and Joe Coley, and her sisters Barbara Carpenter and Eva Grant. She will be dearly missed by all who survived her including her son, Ray Keating of Los Angeles, Calif., her three daughters, Lynn McLellan and Kathy Keating, both of Tulsa, and Connie Cortina of The Woodlands, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and many friends.

Mrs. Keating will be in state Sunday 12:00 - 8:00 P.M at the funeral home with the funeral service at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 17, 2023 - Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. For additional information, please call 918-663-2233.
