Obituary

Ruth Jean (Jasper) McGuckin

She was born May 3, 1927 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of John E. V. and Anita Jasper
She and Charles E. McGuckin were married in Dallas on June 26, 1946.
She died July 29, 2014, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She died peacefully in her sleep at home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. McGuckin in 1990 and her sister Virginia in 1977. She is survived by her brother Walter Jasper of Arizona, her sister Barbara Yonge of Lake Jackson, Texas and her sister Lorraine Werchen of Grand Prairie, Texas.
She is also survived by her children: Ed McGuckin and Catherine of College Station, Texas;
Barbara Olsen and Jim of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Kevin McGuckin and Hannah Mallon of Brenham, Texas; Margaret Young and David of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kathleen Montalbano and Mike of Katy, Texas. In addition she is survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. We all loved her very much.

She attended Sunset High School in Dallas. She graduated from North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington in May 1946.

She and Chuck loved to dance. She was a tireless worker with the Republican Party and was named outstanding Republican woman in 1976. She was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1976 which nominated Ronald Reagan. She had a great sense of humor.
She loved babies; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great source of joy to her. She was a long-time fan of big band music and jazz; but most of all she was a fan of Frank Sinatra.
