Ruth Virginia (Ginny) Lovett, daughter of Carl and Mary (Moulton) Phelps, was born October 1, 1922, near Jaffna, Ceylon (now called Sri Lanka) and departed this life on November 17, 2017 at the age of 95.

Her parents were Congregational Missionaries at a high school for Tamil boys in Ceylon. In 1932, they moved to a hill station in South India, where her father became the principal of a school for American Missionary children. She attended high school in Newtonville, MA, and two years of college at Doane College, in Crete, NE before transferring to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education, in 1943.

Ginny married James Lovett in Ft. Smith, AR on December 23, 1942. She taught at Sunnymede Elementary School in Ft. Smith from 1958 to 1984, before retiring to Cookson, OK with her husband.

Survivors include: three daughters, Shirley Hill of Weatherford, TX, Barbara McNally of Tulsa, OK, and Kathleen Otwell of Conroe, TX; seven grandchildren, Randall Parent, Richard Parent, Tammy Parent Deegear, Leon McNally, Renee Zaferes, Daniel Otwell, Crystal Otwell; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two younger brothers, Roger Phelps of Santa Rosa, CA and Robert Phelps of Billings, MT; and a host of friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Tuesdy, November 21, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Memorial service will be 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at University Village, 8555 S. Lewis, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
