Ruth May Smyth, 84, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Monday, June 13, 1977, at her residence. She was born on Monday, August 1, 1892, in Storm Lake, Buena Vista County, IA, to William Frederick "W. Fred" Quay, who died December 6, 1949, and Eva (Francisco) Quay, who died September 1, 1969. Ruth married the love of her life, Meredyth James Smyth, on August 1,1911, in Oklahoma County, OK, and he died on September 17, 1955. She was survived by her son, David James Smyth of Kansas City, MO, who died August 18, 2002; daughter-in-law, Virginia L. Smyth, who died April 3, 2003; daughter, Patricia Conway of New York, NY, later known as, Patricia O'Hare, of Tulsa, OK, who died November 1, 2009; sister, Janet Rothman of Tulsa, OK; and a lifetime of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ruth will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
