Sally Evans Baker, 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on March 13, 2026. She was born on January 2, 1933, in Enid, OK, to Wilfred and Lillian Evans. She graduated from Enid High School and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. While at OU, she met Richard F. (Dick) Baker, and they married on August 1, 1953. Together, they built a life in Tulsa, OK, centered on faith, family, and community.
Sally lived a life characterized by grace, kindness, and quiet strength. A devoted friend, she was active at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, where she and Dick were charter members. She was involved in P.E.O., Children's Day Nursery, and the Tulsa Garden Club. In addition, she cherished time with friends through tennis, bridge, and her Wednesday Bible study.
She is survived by her son, Dr. R. Stanley Baker; daughter, Lesley Baker Gudgel (Tom); and grandchildren Grant Gudgel (Laure), Blake Gudgel (Regan), Nick Baker, and Kathryn Baker (Nate Tomczyk). Great-grandchildren include Thom and June Gudgel, Baker and Gray Gudgel, and Daisy Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers, Sam Evans and Jim Evans.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Kirk of the Hills Church on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to:
