Obituary

Wilson, Samuel English, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 in Tulsa Oklahoma, at St. Francis Hospital. Born January 21, 1937 to Olivia Harris Wilson Cole and Samuel English Wilson, Sr. who was killed in September 1936 in a car wreck before Sam's birth.

He was raised in Muskogee, after his Mother's marriage to Joy Donald Cole. He was a 1955 graduate of Muskogee Central High School, Muskogee, OK, and graduate of University of Oklahoma with a Business Management Degree, 1959. He was a member of the Beta Theta Epsilon Fraternity, Certified National YMCA Director 1967, which he served faithfully as a ministry to share Christ with others until his retirement in 2001. He was also a member of Rotary International and served as an officer in the Muskogee Rotary Club from 1963-1970, and as club Secretary for the Wagoner Rotary Club until his retirement in 2003.

He married Marilynn (Morgan) Wilson October 3, 1964 in Muskogee, OK.

He was certified as a Fireman for Steam, Passenger and Freight Locomotives by the Georgetown Loop RR in Georgetown, CO. in 2004. He volunteered for the Christmas train for Dry Gulch, USA from 1998 to 2013 as a Hostler, Fireman, and Engineer.
He volunteered for the YMCA of the Rockies at Snow Mountain Ranch from 2003 to 2013 as a big equipment operator and in the Buildings and Grounds Dept.

Survived by his wife, Marilynn; sister, Mary Patricia Cole of Muskogee; brother, Donald Redmond Cole; children, Steven Brad, wife, Shelley (Endicott) Wilson, of Norman, OK, Lesslye Elise (Wilson) and husband, Shawn Mason, of Austin, TX, Kristine Marie (Wilson) and husband, Keith Harris, of Pryor, OK; grandchildren, Jordan Michael Colburn and Aden of Austin, TX, Jonathan Matthew Colburn and Erin of Firestone, CO, Graeme Endicott Samuel Wilson of Norman, OK; and great-grandchildren, Kiva Rowyn Colburn and Arlo Niko Colburn of Austin, TX, Emmalyn Taylor Colburn of Firestone, CO. Preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Lynn Wilson; and his parents.
