Sandy was born March 19, 1959, in San Diego, CA., to John James Estep (deceased) & Jean Frances (Knowlden)Estep Keller. Sandy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She was loved by all she encountered and truly was the epitome of "you reap what you sow". Sandy gave love freely without expectations. No one could walk away from meeting Sandy without feeling a sense of love and positivity.
She had a unique way of touching people deeply... She is a part of all who met her and will continue to have an impact for generations to come. She was a solid, positive mentor to many of her daughters' friends, most of whom called her "Mom". She was the "fun" mom, friend, aunt, always careful to make sure that the kids around her were respected, safe, and happy. Sandy led by example with her patience and love, taking the time to ensure that her children were heard and offered loving, considered counsel. Sandy loved to have fun and was a wonderful dancer. Whether it was dressing as John Travolta for a company skit or dancing with her husband, she was always up for fun. Sandy could not tell a joke no matter how hard she tried. She infected all around her with a warm spirit full of love and laughter. You could not help but love her! As a teen, Sandy was a member ofthe International Order Job's Daughters and served as honored queen in 1977. That same year she joined the order of the Eastern Star, becoming a faithful member for 35 years. She served as Worthy Matron in 1989. Sandy graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1977. Music and Sandy went hand in hand. She always had a song in her head and was ready to sing at the drop of a hat.
Sandy retired from Southwestern Bell, where she worked as an operator and later in sales and marketing. Sandy married her sweetheart, John Derrick, on September 3, 2005.
