During his retirement years, he and Kathryn took their travel trailer to numerous sites across the United States. Never losing his love for baseball, he played softball and traveled out of state to compete in the Senior Olympics. Later in life, Seth took up paint-by-number kits and painted over two dozen paintings, mostly scenic cabins by the lake which reminded him of his country roots and the beauty and serenity of nature.
