Sarah Ann Pogson gained her wings on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, in the comfort of her Tulsa home at the age of 81. She is remembered as a caring mother, a strong and courageous woman and a devoted friend.

Sarah was born on January 18, 1942 in Marshall, Texas to Ernest Edwin (Jack) and Lula Meisenheimer. Sarah grew up in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. She went on to attend the University of Tulsa and was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Sarah met her husband, George L. Pogson Jr. while attending the University of Tulsa. The couple wed June 24, 1961 at the First Methodist Church of Jefferson, Texas.

Sarah worked for Alexander and Alexander, Inc in downtown Tulsa. She found great pride in her long-term career as an insurance agent.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Pogson, her parents, Jack and Lula Meisenheimer, her brother, Ernest Meisenheimer and son-in-law Ron Boggs. Survivors include her daughters: Susan Boggs of Tulsa and Barbara and her husband Chris Nykol of Guthrie; her granddaughters Megan Boggs of Tulsa and Katherine Nykol of Guthrie.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17th from 2-5pm at 3569 S. Sandusky Avenue (36th and Sandusky) in Tulsa. This celebration is open to all family and friends. Flowers may be sent to Moore's Rosewood Funeral Home 2570 S. Harvard or brought to the celebration.
