Funeral services in the form of a memorial mass will be held at Saint Benedicts Catholic Church, Monday, May 21st 2018 with Father Joseph Townsend, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore Funeral Home.
Sarah was born in Champagne-Urbana Illinois on September 2nd 1944 to Paul and Alice McGinty Swain, the second of three sisters and one brother. She referred to her sisters and brother as the "core", the core of an extended family that is truly international. A fiercely independent woman, she moved to Oklahoma in the early seventies. Incredibly industrious, she pursued a diverse career. But her favorite, was travelling around the nation with her beloved husband, Rick Sabala, collecting and grading railroad ties. Rick and Sarah were married on June 21st 1991.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alice Swain.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Rick Sabala; sons; Sean and Christopher Cunningham; Brother, David Swain; sisters, Susan Grescoviak and Paula Swain Rhodes; Grandchildren, Phillip, Courtney, Cailee, Cassidy and Declan. She was "Guidee" to her grandchildren because she was too young to be a grandmother. She was especially beloved by the Sabala/Salinas Clan.
Memorials may be made to Saint Benedict Endowment or the American Lung Association.
The family of Sarah wishes to extend our sincere thanks for the love and support from those who loved her so much.
