Obituary

Scott Michael Evans, 55, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Friday August 18, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Tulsa, OK to Richard and Carla Evans on August 22, 1961. Scott graduated from Eastwood High School in 1979. He worked for the Tulsa Roughnecks right after high school and worked alongside his mother in the family accounting business Evans Data Processing and continued to keep the family business going for 34 years. Scott served the Tulsa community by being involved with Emergency Management Agency for 30 years, serving as Tulsa Auxiliary police (Reserve) for 18 years, Tulsa County Sheriffs reserve for several years after, working closely with the Tulsa Police Department, and working alongside his best friends with the Tulsa Talons. He worked for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiners for 9 and a half years, then started as a dispatcher for Tulsa International Airport Police and worked his way up to Captain of the Airport police until his death. Scott had a love for his family and friends that was unquestionable. He loved to work with his team "JCS Motorsports" on most weekends building and fixing up midget cars and his sprint car. He had a love for music and thoroughly enjoyed listening to songs by Pink Floyd, Metallica, Kansas, and many others. He loved to bowl and bowled in the ABC tournament when it came to Tulsa. Scott followed his passion with New York Yankees baseball which he passed down to his daughter and grandchildren. He could see things nobody else could and turned that gift into amazing photographs which sparked his love of photography. Scott had a wonderful sense of humor and would sometimes shock people with the things he would say and do, but no matter what, he always had people laughing and smiling. Scott was a wonderful mentor to his family and friends and always had a way of putting things into perspective. He was incredibly selfless and always thought of the needs of other people before he ever thought of his own. He touched so many lives in his 55 years. He blessed everyone with many valuable life lessons from the wisdom and advice he would give to others. Scott is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cathy Evans; his daughter, Barbara Evans of Claremore, OK; his stepdaughter, Christy Broome of Newhall, CA; his stepson Marc Russell and his wife Lisa, of Simi Valley, CA; his grandchildren, Connor Herbert, Lorelai Evans, Justin Broome, Jordan Richmond, Cortney Russell, and Olivia Russell; his brother Todd Evans and his wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, OK; his Uncle Darrell Spreen and his wife Gaila of Albuquerque, NM; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents. Scott embraced family traditions and his lessons and wisdom will live on through his family. He is now at peace.
