Seth Woodruff Herndon Jr. passed away on July 15, 2017. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 28, 1937 to Seth Woodruff Herndon Sr. and Elise Berry Herndon. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Billingslea Herndon; three children, Seth Christopher Herndon, Jill Ann Mixer and Diane Berry Herndon Fryer; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He passed away peacefully in Indian Wells, California after a battle with cancer.

Seth and Margaret (Muggy) were married for 31 wonderful years. They lived in or around the Indian Wells, CA area for their entire marriage. They loved each other so much that over the course of their marriage, they spent less than 10 nights apart.

Seth graduated from Tulsa University in 1960 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He had a very successful career in the oil and gas industry. Early on, he was president of Herndon Drilling Co., then moved on to many different ventures in the oil and gas world.

Seth enjoyed participating in many sports. He competed in polo as a top ranked player for over 40 years; winning numerous titles including the World Cup. He was very well respected in the polo community. As his polo career slowed down, he enjoyed golf and fishing.

Seth was a man of high integrity and honesty. He challenged himself and those around him to hold these high standards. He was regularly asked to serve in positions that required these qualities. Seth was a very private man, never wanting the spot light on himself. He came to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ later in his life. He is now with his Lord and Savior today.

Seth will be buried in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a private family burial.
