Obituary

Matthew Shane Anderson. Shane was a much-loved husband, father, Eagle Scout,
Teacher, and mentor of youth. Shane passed from this life on October 1, 2017 as a result of a senseless violent act as he protected his wife Darcie and daughters Kaylen, and Kylie.

Shane was born September 7, 1973 to parents Cyndee and Jack Anderson of Foyil, Oklahoma. Shane attended Union Public Schools through the 7th grade and graduated from Foyil High School in 1991, where he was the class valedictorian. Shane held a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma. Most recently, he taught 7th grade geography at Oneta Ridge Middle School in Broken Arrow School District, where his students dubbed him "Mr. A" and "Mr. Geo-dude". Shane's wit and humor spawned love and admiration from his students. Shane started boy scouts with Troop 26 at the age of 10, earned his Eagle Scout and served with the same troop until the day he passed.

He is survived by his wife Darcie of Tulsa, son Connor age 17, daughter Kaylen age 11, daughter Kylie age 10, trusty dog Scout, loyal cat Rey, parents Jack and Cyndee Anderson, of Foyil, brother Jason, sister-in-law Amber, nephew Bodie, niece Kalli, brother Josh, sister-in-law Kaylee, niece Emery, and paternal grandfather Bob Anderson.

Notes left by his students covered the walls of his now vacant classroom and the halls of his school; many said "Fly High Mr. Anderson" and to that his family would add "Into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". Words of encouragement and caring for the family may be left at www.moorefuneral.com .
