Sharon Ann Bridgman 79, of Poteau, OK, passed away after a brief illness on December 13, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born 1944 to Alyce Stephenson Bridgman (deceased 1998) and John Stephenson (deceased 1944) in Fort Smith, Arkansas. At the age of 7, her mother Alyce married P.O. Bridgman and became part of the Bridgman Family legacy. In 1962, Sharon graduated from William Woods College and went on to pursue a career in interior design working as the first female intern for a well-known designer in St Louis, MO. After, she settled down in Poteau where she remained. She was known for her vibrant personality, unwavering love, and deep loyalty to those she loved. She effortlessly connected with people, showcased by her exceptional talent for card games and her advocacy for the underdog. Her love for British culture and culinary skills were evident to all, as was her fearlessness in tackling tough conversations. An advocate for empowerment, she blazed trails in her professional journey and contributed to Historic Downtown Poteau's beautification.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Harrod and Natalie Gillson and grandchildren Zach Casper and Quynn Harrod and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Sharon's life will be celebrated at Rough Day Brewery, located in Historic Downtown Poteau on May 26th, 2024, at 2pm, where friends and loved ones will cheer to her legacy of living boldly and passionately.
