Sheila Brandenburg, an extraordinary mother, devoted wife, and ever faithful friend, left this world in God's perfect timing on Thursday, July 28, 2022. A native Tulsan, Sheila was born September 3, 1959. She graduated with a foreign language degree from Oklahoma State University as well as a degree in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She was a jubilant member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She became a Registered Nurse serving patients for six years in Amarillo Texas.
Sheila was married to Dr. Mark Paul Britt of Tulsa for twenty-nine years, partnering with him as he built a successful medical practice as they served their community. Sheila's greatest joy was her family. She adored her son, Bear, and worked diligently with him as he achieved the highest honors in the Boy Scouts of America and the World Organization of Scouting. Sheila was a Scout at heart. Sheila loved anything and everything Disney: from the parks, to the cast members, the guests, the memorabilia, every single facet, she absolutely adored Disney. Truly, the Magic Kingdom was her magic place. Sheila's laughter exploded throughout all of Disney. Though Sheila didn't have a formal middle name, Servant would be a proper choice. Sheila loved to serve others and never met a stranger. Every encounter was an opportunity to make a friend, to learn something new, to express her gratitude for her life in amazing and creative ways. Sheila always ensured that every person she met believed they were special, unique, important, valued, and treasured. Sheila loved deeply, committed fully, cared unconditionally, and didn't sweat the details. She loved her family, friends, and strangers beyond measure.
Sheila was a genuine Spirit-filled Christian who worshiped her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart. She was passionate and driven. Everything she set her mind to was indeed a pursuit of excellence. With unparalleled boldness and courage, she crossed any boundary, opened any door, offering hope, encouragement, and prayer to anyone who would receive her. Like a child on Christmas morning, she awaited with unbridled anticipation and sheer excitement to hear how God was moving in other people's lives. Sheila manifested Jesus' unconditional love to all. Sheila is survived by her son, Bear Brandenburg, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Matthew and Carla Britt of Oklahoma City, and their children, Jolie, Caitlin, and Joshua, her sister Debbie and husband David Carman of Tulsa, and their children, Rachel, Katie, and Zac. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mark, her parents, Jim and Calleen Brandenburg of Tulsa, and Mark's parents Clarence and Caroline Britt of Tulsa.
