Shirley Nadine Barry, 90, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away in the evening of May 25, 2025 at Arlington Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation. Shirley was born in Cairo, IL on March 5, 1935 to the late Charles and Joyce Thomas. After finishing High School, Shirley was married to Clarence R. Barry and they moved from Chicago to the suburb of Skokie, IL. Shirley worked as an Executive Assistant while Clarence was a Letter Carrier.
Shirley held several administrative positions at in the northern Chicago area; Montgomery Wards, Underwriters Laboratories, The Skokie News, Berry Bearings, etc. Shirley was also an excellent stay at home Mom and cook (her home-made chicken noodle soup with pork neck bone broth was amazing and her kids helped make the noodles the night before the soup was made, her strawberry rhubarb pie is unmatched).
Shirley was involved with her church, Saint Lamberts Church in Skokie, IL, and enjoyed making crafts and teaching children how to make various crafts.
Shirley is survived by her four children, two grand children and two great grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. Barry. There will be a celebration of life graveside service at 1 PM, Friday May 30th, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There will be a Viewing at Moore Funeral Home at 11 AM Friday May 30th, 2025.
