Shirley Janell Scidone passed into the presence of her Savior on August 3, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a long battle with lupus. She was born on July 12, 1941, in Grove Springs, Missouri, to Hayward and Gail Davis Fletcher. She was saved under the ministry of Raymond Tracey in 1956 and baptized into Tabernacle Baptist Church. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1959. She married Richard Harrill on June 30, 1961. To this union one son, Rocky, was born. On December 10, 1992, she married Vince Scidone. She worked as a secretary in numerous places, and was employed by Sprint until she retired in 1997. She and Vince moved to Naples, Florida, in 1998 and were very involved in the ministries of First Baptist Church. Shirley served as the hospitality director for 12 years.
In June of 2014 she and Vince moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family, and at the time of her death was a member of Tulsa Baptist Temple. She was faithful to church as much as her health allowed her to be. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her great-grandchildren. Even though she lived with constant pain she never complained. When she came to church and was asked how she was doing, her response was always, "I am blessed!" She was a very elegant lady.
She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Vince, of the home; son Rocky (Julie) Harrill of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a step daughter, Nicole (Steve) Arnold, of Potosi, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Donna Pearson, Heather Gomez, Jonathan Harrill, Christy Harrill, Amelia, Andrew, Maggie & Garrett Arnold; and seven great grandchildren, as well as a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, August 19, 2017, at Tulsa Baptist Temple, 1203 S. Columbia Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made in her memory to Tulsa Baptist Temple missions. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
