Sigmund James Hohulski, 78, passed away at home in his sleep on September 22, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a courageous battle against cancer. Born on August 4, 1946, in Missouri, Sigmund dedicated his life to his family, community, and country.

Sigmund proudly served in the US Navy as an Electronic Communications Engineer, a role that instilled in him a lifelong love of technology and communication. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career in telecommunications, retiring from both Southwestern Bell and Alcatel-Lucent. Even in retirement, Sigmund was often jokingly referred to as a "Professional Papa," a title he embraced with joy and pride.

An active member of his community, Sigmund could often be found volunteering at local events. He was especially proud of his role as a founding member of Tulsa's Oktoberfest and continuing his mother's tradition of organizing an annual neighborhood Independence Day parade. He was a familiar face at the Tandy Family YMCA, where he enjoyed participating in yoga classes.

Sigmund leaves behind a loving family: his wife, Carolyn; children, Jeffrey (Jennifer), Angela, Carrie (Dan), and Sean (Amber); grandchildren, Kaily, Ivy, Elijah, Emelia, and Sigmund II; brother, Robert (Donna); and sister, Linda (Jim). He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Poe, and sister, Nancy Dickey.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, from 6pm to 8pm at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, September 26th, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family & Children's Services or the Tandy Family YMCA, causes close to Sigmund's heart.

His legacy of service and dedication to his family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
