Obituary
Stephen Walley, 74, of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully at his residence, with his husband, John by his side, on Thursday, February 9, 2023. He was born on Wednesday, March 24, 1948, in Bainbridge, OH, to Clark Walley, Sr. and Arabel (Knisely) Walley. He attended Paint Valley High School of Bainbridge, Ohio, Miami University of Cincinnati, Ohio, The University of Hawaii, and Tulsa Junior College. Stephen was proud to have served as a Quartermaster Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War. Steve and John created several successful business ventures together including Primo Snax at Hillcrest Physicians Building, Primo's at St. John's Doctors building and the popular night spot, The Silver Star Saloon. He worked for Central Tag Agency and retired in 2021 from South Pointe Chevrolet Automobile Dealership where he worked in Human Resources.
Steve was creative and artistic and enjoyed antiquing, exploring flea markets, and gardening. He enjoyed cooking, whether for every day, holidays, or special occasions, and he enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Steve had a great sense of humor, quick wit and enjoyed watching Thursday night sitcoms. He also had a wonderful imagination, enjoyed science fiction, had an adventurous spirit, and enjoyed traveling. Steve valued his friendships and relationships with his family, took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and though his family lived out-of-state, he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them.
Steve is survived by his husband, of 40 years, John Rothrock; three sons, Bill Walley and wife, Gini, of Carlisle, PA, Chris Walley and wife, Pam, of Salt Lake City, UT, and Jonathan Walley and wife, Rachel, of Baton Rouge, LA; two daughters, Gretchen Jensen and husband, Clark, of Chico, CA, and Kacey Anderson and husband, Matt, of Highland, UT; ten grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and ten siblings.
