Stephen Wayne Dixon, of Tulsa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 14th, at Cornerstone Hospital in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Steve was born on October 21, 1954 to Junior and Jimmie (McAlester) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Steve graduated from McLain High School in Tulsa in 1972.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, and son, Brian Stephen Dixon.
Steve is survived by: his son, Justin Dixon, Justin's wife Stacy, and granddaughter, Taylor, of Tulsa. Grandsons, Austin Dixon of Norman, OK; Cole Dixon of Sand Springs, OK; granddaughter, Reagan Rice, and their mother, Christie Rice of Sand Springs, OK. Stepson, Frank Deck, of Boulder, CO; and sister, Karen Dixon Pierce of Broken Arrow, OK. And also, his beloved Heidelberg German Shepherds, Cali and Bear.
Steve spent his career in real estate development and property management for 40 years, and was original owner of Dixon Real Estate Company in Tulsa.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, especially when it included spending time with his sons and grandsons. Steve traveled to Africa twice and brought home trophies that filled his home.
Steve loved telling tales of all his adventures, over and over, each time a bit more embellished. But his family and friends enjoyed hearing them because they were expressed with such joy and excitement.
Steve was a good guy with a big heart, going above and beyond what was expected; a true and loyal friend. Steve was loved and will be missed dearly by his family and many, many great friends.
