Susan Lynn (Fisher) Peterson was born January 23, 1937 in Geneva, Illinois to Harry Cameron Fisher and Dorothy Lenora (Johnson) Fisher. She entered into eternal rest on August 27, 2024 in Denton, Texas.
Susan was a graduate of Tulsa Central High School, Class of 1954. She went on to attend the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She married Robert "Bob" M. Peterson August 3, 1956.
Susan was a stay-at-home Mom while her kids were young. Later, she had an extensive career as a preschool teacher for 20 plus years at Christ United Methodist Church Early Learning Center; Kirk of the Hills Preschool in Tulsa and later at Trinity United Methodist Church-Trinity Learning Center in Denton, Texas.
Susan was a member of Saint David of Wales Episcopal Church in Denton, Texas. She was also a member of Daughters of the King Chapter.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her parents. She is survived by her brother, Harry Fisher, his wife, Stacie and children: son, Chayne Fisher & daughters, Michelle Williams and Joey Gursky; daughters, Heather Johnson and husband, Chris & daughters, Catlin and Kirsten Johnson and daughter, Amy Peterson and daughter, Trinity Curtis; and former son-in-law, Jeff Curtis.
Visitation will be Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Moore Southlawn Chapel from 10:00am to 12noon. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A Memorial Service will be held at Saint David of Wales Episcopal Church in Denton, Texas on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:00am with a reception immediately following in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to Iron Gate (Trinity Episcopal Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma).
