Ms. Tammy J. Smith, age 60, of Tulsa Oklahoma, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2021, after a brief illness. Her kindness, generosity, and laughter will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Born in 1960 in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Tom D Smith and the late Fay E. Michaels, she spent many happy childhood days in Vinita surrounded by her loving family. She and her parents moved to Independence, Missouri, in 1962, where her siblings would join the family (brother Tracy and sister Julie). The family would move several times in the coming years until they settled in Dallas, Texas in 1974. Tammy graduated from Warren Travis White High School in 1978, and attended Brookhaven Community College. After a brief career in the food service industry, Tammy joined Fireman's Fund Insurance in Dallas where she would remain until 2013. Tammy loved and missed Oklahoma and always wanted to return and did so in 2013 where she would eventually work for Rooney Insurance.

In 1984, she was blessed with the birth of a beautiful daughter, Jourden Leigh, and in 2013, her handsome grandson, Ethan Thomas, was born. Tammy always had a soft spot in her heart for her feline fur babies and rescued many over the years, nursed them back to health, and found homes for as many as she could, working with the Carrolton Texas Humane Society. She was also a huge fan of the OU football team. After the birth of her grandson, Ethan, she would enjoy many years and fun times in her role as "Mimi".

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fay E. (Michaels) Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Jourden Leigh Smith; grandson, Ethan Thomas Smith-Freeman; father, Tom D. Smith (Doris); brother, Tracy D Smith (Lucy); sister, Julie Warner (Joe); niece, Stephanie Denham (David); and nephews, Jonathan Smith and Tyler Wheat. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins in both the US and Canada.
