Tara Jonell Mize was born on November 11, 1974 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joel and Gloria Johnson and was welcomed in her heavenly home on October 12, 2015. Tara enjoyed and lived life with great anticipation, enthusiasm and energy especially for her family and friends. Tara was a friend to everyone and approached others with such compassion, kindness, and had a heart for others. She had a smile that lit up a room—always giving hugs and compliments to others.

Tara, as the youngest sibling and the only daughter, she was truly the "little princess" of the family. Growing up, Tara enjoyed ice skating, ballet, and singing as well as spending time with family and friends. Tara graduated from Metro Christian Academy in 1993. After high school, Tara's journey as an adult began with her marriage to Kirk Lee Mize. They were married on February 26, 1994 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas—enjoying 21 years of marriage.

Tara was the proud mother of two daughters, Ashlee Ellen Mize (18) and Olivia Tatum Mize (15). Tara also had a great love for animals—evident by their family pets. Other than Tara's immediate family, she is survived by her mother Gloria Nellene Johnson, her brothers, Kevin Brent Johnson and his wife, Christina and Troy Lynn Johnson and his wife, Stacie, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws including her mother-in law, Rhonda Bachman, and father-in law, Jim Mize and his wife, Reba. Tara will live on in our hearts and memories until we reunite with her in heaven.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 16, 2015 at Asbury United Methodist Church-Mason Chapel, 6767 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK.
