Obituary
Terry Eugene Stunkard, beloved husband, father, and Papa, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
He was born on April 20, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of G.A. Stunkard and Florence (McLeod) Stunkard.
Terry graduated from Jenks High School in 1965, where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He continued his education at Okmulgee Tech where he earned an associate degree. After earning his degree, he began working at Public Service Company of Oklahoma and retired from there in 2007 after 40 years.
On April 20, 1973, he married the love of his life Janet Brillhart. Together they made their home in Jenks, Oklahoma and raised two daughters, Angie and Kristin.
After they retired, Janet and Terry loved spending time together. It didn't matter where they were going or what they were doing as long as they were together. He also enjoyed many other hobbies including hunting and training bird dogs. He made many beloved friends through those hobbies. He was a man of few words but many talents. He could fix anything and he strived for excellence in everything he did. No matter the accomplishment he would always say "That was good but I could do that even better."
He is preceded in death by his parents G.A. and Florence Stunkard and his mother-in-law Ruby Fenimore.
Terry is survived by his wife Janet; his daughters, Angie Snider (Michael) and Kristin Behl. He was a proud Papa to his two granddaughters Karis Behl and Reagan Snider. He is also survived by his two brothers Larry Stunkard (Janice) and Dan Stunkard (Doyla), brothers-in-law Doug Brillhart (Linda) and Scott Brillhart, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hulet, Shawn Robinson, Billy Walker, Bill Bonner, Jim Jackson, and Bruce MacDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Snider and Morgan Behl.
Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel. Family will be present to receive friends.
Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Moore Southawn Chapel followed by burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Lung Association < https://action.lung.org >.
