Thelma Maxine Mitchell

Born July 5, 1921 and Passed to her Glory May, 11, 2013.

Thelma was born and raised in Billings, Missouri on her family?s farm. She lived in several cities due to her husband, Orval?s, military service and work, the family moved to Tulsa in 1957. She has been an active member of the 10th and Rockford Church of Christ for 55 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orval, her sister Laura Brown, and brother Charles Lange.

She was the loving Mother of son Loyd (Mickey) Mitchell of Houston, and the devoted Aunt to Judy McCaslin of Tulsa, David Steele of Aiken SC., Susan Brown Peralta of Tulsa, Londa Medlin of Odessa TX., Lavon Dimple of Summerset Ky., and Leon Donham of Sweetwater, TX. Charles Lange of Longview, TX., Marie Garoutte of Marionville, MO., Steve Lange of Aurora, MO., and Linda Lange of Billings, MO. She has one Grandson, Michael Mitchell of Orcas Island, WA., and one granddaughter Shelly Morgan of Tulsa, Step granddaughter Jani Etzler of Wimberley TX., and four great grandchildren.

Thelma was devoted to her family and church. She loved children and looked forward to working with them at the yearly Church Vacation Bible School, and Church camp. She was an avid gardener, and prided herself on her beautiful gardens. She loved to travel, and would jump in the car or on a plane for a last minute adventure anytime. Her son has lived all over the world and the US, and she loved to visit where ever he was.

Public viewing all day at Moore Funeral Home on 51st Friday the 17th, the family will be in attendance from 5 to 8.

Funeral Services will be held at 10th and Rockford Church of Christ at 10 am. on Sat. the 18th, with private burial to follow. The family will be meeting people at the church at 9:30 am.
