Thelma E. Rodriquez, 92 passed Friday, February 16, 2018. Born February 7 1926 in Dallas, TX.
She was a remarkable, strong women that survived Polio in her early 20's with three children under her arms. She was told that she would never walk again but she was determined to fight and get back to her kids. And after her survival she was set on educating herself and improving her mind. She was civic minded and politically active, volunteering for politicians and presidents. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
She and her beloved husband Henry had a great love of adventure and traveled all over the US as well as England, Wales and France. She had a love for sewing, crafts and passed on her creativity to all of her children. Our fondest memories are long walks in the evening and hiking Woodward Park. She was famous for her hand made enchiladas tamales and tortillas. Her absolute joy was all of her children, grandchildren, great grandkids and even great great grandchildren.
Thelma will be remembered for many things. She was strong, committed to her friends and family, firm in her faith, smart, determined and resilient. In the last years of Thelma's life she struggled with Alzheimer's disease. She will be truly missed and loved by all.
