Thelma Hurley Reynolds Schmidt, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Thelma was born, August 25, 1929, to George Cooper Davidson and Myrtle (Craig) Hurley of Ocean Port, New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 of her six brothers and sisters; and her first husband, James F. Reynolds, to whom she was happily married for 43 years.
Thelma worked for a time as a receptionist for the Amoco Research Center. She loved gardening and was always the perfect hostess of many parties for family events. She was an avid fan of the University of Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Gene Schmidt of Tulsa, OK; children: Deborah Lee Thompson and her husband David of Abilene, TX; James Keith Reynolds and his wife Valerie of Apple Valley, MN; Sherri Ann Carson and her husband Tom of Skiatook, OK; Gary Schmidt and his wife Xiaping of San Mateo, CA; and Timothy Schmidt and his wife Keli of Ft. Worth, TX.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Voss (Scott) of Abilene, TX; Brian Thompson (Kim) of San Angelo, TX; Jason Lance Reynolds (Amanda) of Lake Tahoe, NV; James Shawn Reynolds of Wynonna, MN; Robert Christopher Autrey (Aliesha) of Sand Springs, OK; Stephanie Michelle McGhay (Jake), Josh Carson (Mandi) of Ft. Smith, AR; Anna Carson of Tulsa, OK; Ryan and Paul Schmidt of New Jersey; Lisa Schmidt of New York City, NY; Daniel and Monica Schmidt of California; Timothy, Augustus and Calloway Schmidt of Ft. Worth, TX. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and her brother Robert Hurley of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Salvation Army. Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Visitation 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn.
Service 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2015, Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st, Tulsa, OK..
Interment will follow the next day at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 27, 2015, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Ft. Worth, TX.
