Theodore A. Converse, 52, of Mannford, OK, passed away Saturday, January 1, 1976, in Tulsa, OK. "Ted" as he was known to all, was born on Thursday, May 10, 1923, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Cedric A. Converse and Olive D. (Hadlock) Converse. He died of a heart attack at Doctor's Hospital while undergoing a new pacemaker transplant. He had worn a pacemaker for three years. Ted, a fraternal leader here, had lived in Tulsa for about 25 years, before moving west of Sand Springs in 1975. He was proud to have served as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy in World War II, and was a mechanic with American Airlines for 20 years. Ted was a former elder and deacon at East Side Christian Church, was royal patrol of Will Clark Amaranth Court, and past patron of Circle Eastern Star Chapter. He also was a 32nd-Degree Mason, and a member of Delta Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Frances N. (Park) Converse of the home; 3 sons, Bill Converse of the home, Mark Converse of Enid, OK, and Michael Kim Converse of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Vondel Converse of Tulsa, OK; stepson, Charles Neal of Albuquerque, NM; 3 grandchildren; and a brother, Cecil Converse of Grandview, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
