Obituary

Theodore Quentin, "Ted," Eliot of Tulsa died November 30 after a short illness. He was 64.

Ted was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and the University of Oklahoma Law School where he was on the law review. He was a shareholder at Gable & Gotwals for twenty-eight years and retired as a shareholder from Hall Estill in 2015. He was a litigator who specialized in oil and gas industry cases. He also served on the board of directors of the Summit Club and was a member of the Nature Conservancy of OK and Ducks Unlimited.

Ted loved waterfowl hunting, fishing, travel, good food, practicing law, Oklahoma, and well-written books. His repertoire of jokes and good stories was as deep as his circle of friends was wide. His life epitomized the maxim "Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness."

He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Ethel Eliot and Henry Clifford and Dora Dean Jones, his parents Theodore Quentin Eliot Sr. and Norma Jo Eliot Rutherford, his stepfather S. Morton Rutherford, and his brother Robert Lee Eliot. He is survived by his wife Judith Seymour Eliot, their three rascally Labradors Boomer, Sooner, and Magic Eliot, a brother John L. Eliot, two aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and two goddaughters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Tulsa. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Ducks Unlimited. www.ducks.org or call 1-800-453-8257
