He took early retirement from The Williams Company in 2004 and did some consulting work until his final retirement in 2011.
Tom met and married the love of his life, Doris Ann Johnson and they celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in March, 2022. They had a love of travel and were blessed to be able to see many areas both in the US and other countries over their 29 years together. On one of their first trips, they slept in a two-man tent on the south rim of the Grand Canyon in 29 degree weather. One of their most memorable trips was their trip to Israel in 2001 with a group from Tulsa Bible Church. One of the highlights of that trip was renewing their wedding vows at Cana where the Lord turned the water into wine. In 2019, Tom completed his bucket list of being in all 50 states with North Dakota being his final state to visit.
Tom's love of the Lord was very evident in his life having taught a Jr. High Sunday school Class and a leader of a Small Group Home Bible Study. He and Doris had an outreach in-home Bible study about money and finances as to what God has to say about these areas from the Bible. Tom had a real heart for people and wanting to help them learn to be good stewards of the Lord's money. He attended Eastland Baptist Church, Tulsa.
Tom had a passion for photograph having saved enough money from his paper route to purchase a 35 MM SLR camera. He would also process and develop all his film and prints. He was the photographer co-editor of his senior class yearbook.
