THOMAS JAY ESSLEY, JR., 78, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Thomas was born to Thomas Jay Essley, Sr., and Gertrude (Keim) Essley on July 25, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Clifton.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Ann (Carroll) Essley; two sons, Tom Essley and Mike Essley of Tulsa; one daughter, Cathy of Shanghai; two sisters, Mary Carol and Rita; also, six grandchildren
He graduated from Central High School in 1952, he then joined the United States Navy and served from 1952 to 1955. He joined the Tulsa Fire Department in 1960 and retired as a Captain in 1990.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a. m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at Moore?s Memory Chapel.
Graveside service: 1:00 p. m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
