Obituary

Thomas Lee Plaster went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Tom was born on April 26, 1946, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Jack and Wilma Plaster. He graduated from Central High School in 1964 and went on to the University of Tulsa, where he received a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology in 1969.

Tom enlisted in the Air Force in June of 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1974. During his time of duty, he served his country with two tours in Vietnam.

After the military, he started working for a telephone company and later worked for the Corp of Engineers. In 1980 he started working for KJRH Channel 2 as a cameraman, where he found his passion for photography. He finished his career working for the Department of Human Services and retired 25 years later after helping many Oklahoma families during his time as a social worker.

In 1992, Tom and Mary met while attending a widows' support group. In addition to bringing them together, the support group brought them lifelong friendships and memories. They later married and have been together for over 25 years.

Tom was a man of many passions. He enjoyed photography, music, wrestling, coin collecting, and searching for treasures with his metal detector. He loved the casino and had a penchant for the slots. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family, including his best buddy, his dog, Dutch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry; and his first wife, Sonya.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; step-son, Dr. Michael Maddox, and wife Keli; step-daughter, Diane Thompson, and husband Brian; as well as six grandchildren, Denny Mask, Preston Maddox, Chris Maddox, Tanner Thompson, Summer Thompson, and Savannah Maddox. All reside in Tulsa.

Tom will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
