Services for Thomas Beckwith "Bub" Jr., 64, of Tulsa, OK., who died Saturday, October 29, 1977, at his home, were held Tuesday, November 1, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dean Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, MO, with Father Pat Wissman officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery. A former resident of Caruthersville, he was born January 10, 1913, in Pemiscot County, Caruthersville, MO, the son of the late Thomas Beckwith Ward, Sr. and Dorothy (Byrd) Ward. He was retired from the CIT Corporation, and was proud to have served as a First Sergeant in the United States Army in WWII. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Mrs. Bill "Susan" Johnsmeyer of West Point, NY; grandson, Colin Ward Johnsmeyer; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of Caruthersville; MO; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers were C.C. Smith, Pierce Neely, Duffy Schultz, Tommy Tompson, Dennis Cain and Chris Mehrle. Honorary pallbearers were Earl M. Coppage, Spud Walker, Paul Wood, Ben Russell and Charlie Langston.
