Thurman R. "T.R." Black, 89, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 in Broken Arrow, OK. Born November 23, 1926 in Black Springs, AR to Balty and Ada Lee (Spradlin) Black. Thurman was a retired Locomotive Engineer for BNSF Railroad. Before working for the railroad he was a logger. Member of Southwood Baptist Church and a deacon for many years. He was an avid vegetable gardener.
Survived by his wife, Willa Dean (Singleton) Black of the home; three daughters, Mary (Cecil) Johnson of Piedmont, OK, Joyce (Wayne) Noble of Park Hill, OK, and Judi (Jesse) Friend of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Marvin Black, Marlin Black, Austin Black, Lois Ann Burnett, and Leon Black; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
