Obituary

Timothy Carlton Malhoit, 71, passed away on February 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Tim's presence touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on June 14, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska, Tim spent his early years excelling both academically and athletically. A standout high school athlete, he continued his passion for sports at Midland Lutheran College, where he earned his bachelor's degree while lettering in basketball and tennis.

Following college, Tim spent time teaching in public schools before embarking on a successful career in the insurance industry. His hard work and dedication eventually led him and his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he founded his own insurance firm, building a reputation for integrity, commitment, and care for his clients.

Tim never met a stranger-his warmth, humor, and gift for storytelling made him the heart of every gathering. He had a rare ability to bring laughter to any situation, lightening even the heaviest moments with his quick wit and charm.

Tim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering support. His guiding words-"Always remember, you are the engineer of your life."-will forever echo in the hearts of those he loved. His extraordinary devotion to his family led him and his wife, Patti, to raise their eldest grandchild, a testament to his boundless love and selflessness.

A man of many passions, Tim was an avid golfer and tennis player, traveling to North Carolina, Scotland, and Ireland to play on legendary courses. He also had a deep love for his home, taking pride in maintaining his yard and bountiful vegetable garden. He was a master of the charcoal grill, often slow-cooking brisket to perfection for family and friends. Most evenings, he could be found unwinding in his backyard, enjoying a beverage beneath the custom-built hut he and his wife designed together, while listening to Jimmy Buffett.

A lifelong supporter of the Nebraska Cornhusker football team, Tim's loyalty never wavered, cheering on his team every autumn, regardless of the season's outcome.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patti; his children, Richard Malhoit and Jennie Dexter; his cherished grandchildren, Talan Daggett, Adelaide "Addie" Dexter, and Daniel Dexter III; (brother) Gregory Malhoit and partner, Melinda Lawrence; (sister-in law) Kelly and Hugh Robertson; and (brother-in law) Scott and Diane Bloch. Tim's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 3rd, at 2:00 p.m., at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
