Todd Anthony Pfeifer was born August 26th, 1961 to Charles and Donna Pfeifer while Charles was stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. After completing his service, the family moved back to their hometown of Coffeeville, KS. When Todd was six, Charles took a job with IBM and moved the family to Tulsa. Todd had the kind of childhood others could only wish for with the love his parents had for their only child. Todd would remind his parents the reason he was an only child was because they got it right the first time so why have another. Todd's smart aleck humor never left him.
Todd attended Peter and Paul Catholic school then graduated from Bishop Kelly in 1979. Todd got his associates degree from Tulsa Junior College two years later.
Todd started his first job at All Mower Service at 13 years old where he worked until he was offered a job at Walgreens at the age of 17. As Todd showed his amazing work ethic and management skills, he was promoted to Store Manager at 21years old. One of the youngest store managers in the company, he moved with his young family to St. Louis. Later Todd was given the biggest Walgreens in the country and moved his growing family to Sioux City, Iowa. Five years later, Todd was asked to open the Walgreens market in Tulsa. Todd was loved and respected by every employee that worked for him during his 32 years with the Walgreens Corporation. Todd had a positive influence on every person he worked with. His guidance made all his teams successful with many employees promoted after working with him. Lifelong friendships were made and continue today. Todd worked at the Claremore Walgreens when he met the love of his life, Cheryl Dooley in 2004. With the nickname his buddies had given him, Claremore Cowboy, it was only appropriate that they marry at the Claremore rodeo. They were that couple. That couple that everyone knew how devoted they were to each other, how they finished each other's sentences, knew what the other was thinking and always had a private joke to smile about.
With Cheryl's two sons and Todd's youngest daughter, they moved into their dream home where Todd spent the rest of his life. In 2010 Todd and Cheryl were granted custody of their 2 month old grandson, Daven. Soon after, Todd left Walgreens to start his new career in manufacturing with Cheryl at Ebsco Spring.
Todd brought his unparalleled management skills to Ebsco. He backed his wife, Cheryl by combining his experience with hers. During this time Todd did all he could to help the company by adding fresh ideas, problem solving skills and always had a power point presentation or was grafting a chart to improve the future and success of the company. He was quick to offer encouragement and a smile and was constantly thinking of the welfare and happiness of the Ebsco staff which he and Cheryl lovingly call their Ebsco family.
With the Autism diagnosis of their now adopted young child, Todd and Cheryl set out to bring awareness to the prejudice against hiring people with special needs into the work force. Teaming with the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services in hiring people with special needs, Todd put his heart and soul into this, becoming a board member of the Tulsa Business Services of OKDRS. In October, a hero of Todd's, Randy Lewis, will be speaking at a conference in Oklahoma City for OKDRS. Randy has a son with Autism and started a warehouse for Walgreens employed mainly by people with special needs. Knowing that Todd will not be able to meet him and share the panel they were to be on together is heart breaking to Cheryl and the members (friends) at OKDRS.
Even though he was always busy, Todd made time for his numerous hobbies. He loved going to the gun range, especially with his dad. He played several musical instruments with his favorite being the guitar. Music played a huge part in Todd's life. He loved to send text messages to Cheryl with song lyrics from songs they both loved. His latest was "because your kiss is on my list of the best things in life".
Todd is survived by his mother, Donna Pfeifer; his wife, Cheryl Dooley; son Jason Pfeifer and fiance Laura McCormick; daughter Tracy Smoot and granddaughter Kaley Smoot; daughter Nicole Stephan, husband Chris Stephan and grandsons Aiden, Spencer and Lucas; Lindsey Pfeifer and fiance Brandon Wilson; son Daven Anthony Dooley; stepson Charlie Dooley, wife Michelle and granddaughter Barbraann; stepson Nick Dooley and Alisha Webb; uncle James Pfeifer and wife Grace; many cousins and his two dogs, Beau and Lola. Also, countless friends he met along the way from work or his hobbies or people he met putting groceries in his car.
Todd was taken from this earth much too early. He had so much more living to do. He will be missed by so many.
