Tommy Ward Ihrig was born on October 18, 1925, to Ernest and Iva Ihrig in Mannford, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on June 17, 2024, at age 98 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He grew up in Mannford and Weleetka, Oklahoma. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served for 2 years in the Pacific as a Coxswain during WWII. He then returned to Weleetka to finish and graduate from high school. He married Ruby Nell Harper in 1952. They raised two children, Nancy and Stephen, in Arlington, Texas. He was a gifted carpenter that worked in commercial construction.
Being widowed in 1981, he married the second love of his life, Peggy Ihrig of Tulsa, in 1984. They spent their remaining years in Tulsa. He enjoyed spending time in his wood shop and in the yard working on their fish pond and gardening. He and Peggy traveled the U.S. in their camper to see the National Parks and were involved with their church family. He enjoyed helping family and friends remodel their homes and continuing his carpentry skills, making the most beautiful bird carvings and works of art. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, from Sunday dinners to babysitting the great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings as well as his daughters Nancy Anderson and Pam Bilby, son Stephen Ihrig, and sons in-law Rick Bilby, James Hitchcock and Steven Jay Anderson.

He leaves behind daughters Dena Hitchcock and Brenda White, daughter-in-law Barbara Ihrig, son-in-law David White, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his beloved Penny #2 dog and numerous loved ones.
