Travis Lynn Pendergraft was born in Springdale, Arkansas on July 11, 1941 to Travis and Nancy West Pendergraft. He was the fourth child in a family of 8 children. He and his family moved to several towns while growing up, but most of his life he lived in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He attended school in Muskogee and completed the 11th grade at Central High School before he decided to go to work full time. He loved working on cars and was a mechanic for several years before going to work for Madewell Batteries working up to being a shop manager. Later in life he was able to own a business called Max True Fireproofing which he later sold and decided to enjoy life in retirement. His faith was a very important part of his life and he was a devout Christian. He enjoyed attending services mainly at Assembly of God churches.
Travis loved racing cars which was his major pastime. In his younger years, he used to drive stock cars and later was able to sponsor a car that was driven by close friends. Every Sunday he would be home watching Nascar. He enjoyed going to the Nascar races in person when he was able to get the tickets. He liked to travel and was able to go to many destinations but he really liked going to Hawaii where he was able to go several times. He also enjoyed his family getting together for family reunions in Branson, Missouri and going to the lake. He was very much a family man and they were the most important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Pendergraft, of the home in Bixby, daughter, Jami and her husband, Jason Maciula, of McKinney, Texas. Son, Jon Palmer and his partner Summer Ward. He also leaves sons, Terry and wife, Natalie Sampson of Fort Gibson, son, Larry Sampson of Muskogee, daughter, Stephanie and husband, Steve Gustafson of Illinois and son Mark Nollan and partner Stephanie Keeter of Tulsa. Travis' surviving siblings are his sister, Aureta and husband Al Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, brother, Gordon Pendergraft of Bixby, brother, John and wife, Sharon Pendergraft of Broken Arrow, sister, Nancy and husband, Terry Davis of Jenks and sister, Kathy Chamberlain of Wagoner. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Travis Pendergraft, mother, Nancy West Phelps, sister, Patricia Chapin, brother, Gary Pendergraft and daughter, Tammy Hudson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Ballard, Steve Lacey, Jim Lacey, Kevin Lacey, Donnie Madewell, Al Mitchell, Terry Davis and Jason Maciula.jj
