Robert W. Tumy, Jr. of Tulsa passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 10th. He was 76. He was born in Lynn, MA, in 1942 to Bob and Jean Tumy. By trade, he was a contract lighting designer and salesman for more than 40 years. But his true love was relationships he built across the miles. Bob lived a full and rewarding life, and he savored each minute he had here with those he loved, both family and friends. He loved people, loved talking to everyone he met, and his genuine nature was infectious. To say Bob never met a stranger could be an understatement. He was a giving and kind husband, father, and Pops. He loved the Lord, and he lived his life with no regrets. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in the 1970's, and he spent mornings in Bible study with wonderful men from First United Methodist Church, Tulsa, most recently.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Suzanne, his son Rob Tumy and daughter-in-law Lisa Tumy of Tulsa, OK, daughter Kelly Tumy of Highlands, TX, son Colin Tumy and daughter-in-law Annette Tumy of Atlanta, GA, two granddaughters Kaitlyn Tumy and Megan Tumy both of Tulsa, OK, and his five siblings: John Tumy, Carol Nelson, Cia Byrnes, Beth Cook, and Jim Tumy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14th 10:00 a.m. McBirney Chapel at First United Methodist Church
