V. Douglas (Doug) Smith, age 66, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Tulsa, OK. Doug was born August 21, 1948 in Lincoln, AR, the son of V.B. and Wanda (Bliss) Smith. Doug was a 1966 graduate of Tulsa Central High School, then went on to serve his country in the Army. He spent most of his time with the U.S. Army Security Agency stationed in Rothwesten, Germany. After his time in the U.S. Army, he attended the University of Tulsa where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Doug was the first person in his family to obtain a college degree. Shortly after completing his degree and working full time, Doug sat and passed the CPA license on his first attempt. He worked for many years as a CPA and eventually worked as a consultant for several companies throughout Tulsa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lynette Smith; they had been together since their sophomore year in high school (1963); son, Dustin and wife, Chelsey Smith; son, Drough Smith; and five wonderful grandchildren, Griffin, Jaxon, Lili Grace, Sawyer, and Vivian "Birdie" Smith all in Tulsa, OK; stepmother, Jean Smith of Celeste, TX.

Viewing will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa. Service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa. A gravesite memorial with military honor guard will immediately follow the service at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, 12410 N. Yale Ave, Skiatook.
