Vern Elmore Nice, 64, of Indianola, OK, died on Wednesday, May 11, 1977, at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on Wednesday, July 17, 1912, in Ohio, to Millard Wayne Nice and Amanda Bell (Lowery) Nice. Vern was proud to have served as a MoMM2 in the United States Navy in World War II. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK, and was married to Hilda M. Nice. He is survived by his wife; 2 brothers, Willard E. Nice and wife, Dorothy L., of Marion, KS, and Clyde Edwin Nice and wife, Edith Mae, of Kingfisher, OK; 2 sisters, Marie Ethel Lana of Bethel, OK; and Ada L. Tennant and husband, Erman H., of Wellington, KS; sister-in-law, Janelle Nice of Kingfisher, OK; nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. Vern was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Guy Everett Nice of Abiliene, TX, and Ralph Blaine Nice Sr. of Kingfisher, OK; brother-in-law, Joseph Lana of Bethel, OK; 2 nieces, Josephine Marie (Lana) Cook, and Lorene Frances. Vern will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
