Verna Gail Taylor Henry was born in Dustin, Oklahoma on July 13, 1932 to Joe and Della Taylor. Gail passed away on July 19, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones, and left behind a legacy of love, hope, and devotion to family.
Gail grew up in Dustin, OK during the Great Depression. Her large, loving family taught her what was truly important in life: common sense values, a strong faith, and self-reliance. She graduated from Dustin High School at the top of her class in 1950. She went on to be a homemaker and have three wonderful children. Later in life she went to nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and again graduated at the top of her class. In 1998, she became an ordained minister at the Sunset Spiritualist Church in Wells, Kansas. She also played piano beautifully for her family and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents her son, Stephen Wallace Henry, and by her siblings: Maurice Abbot, Vermetta Hogan, George Taylor, Joyce Puckett, Joe Taylor, June Rutherford, Aileen Taylor, Wayne Taylor, Marvin Taylor, and Curtis Taylor. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Harmon of Tulsa, OK, her son Timothy (Liz) Henry of Wichita, KS, her daughter Jennifer Sullivan of San Diego, and 5 grandchildren: Ben (Courtney) Henry, Robin Henry, Amber Henry, Joey Henry, Stephen (Olivia) Henry, 8 great-grandchildren: Caleb Henry, Leila Henry-Ertugrul, Evelyn Henry, Danny Henry, Luke Henry, Stephanie Henry, Evie Swank, and Raleigh Henry.
A service will be held this Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00am at Chapel of Saints Valley, Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
