Obituary
On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Vernesa Best died in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 0 months and 18 days. She was born on Mother's Day, May 13, 1956, in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Vern and Annabelle (Huckaby) Best.
After graduating from East Central High School in Tulsa in 1974, Vernesa joined the United States Army Reserves. Also in 1974, she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. In 1980 she became a Communications Worker of America union steward and served on the local executive board for the next 25 years. She retired from AT&T in 2006 with over 31 years of service.
Vernesa is preceded in death by her father, Vern Best, her mother, Annabelle Best and her sister, Teresa Best Alllison. Also her grandparents Emanuel and Mary Best and James and Annabelle Best Huckaby. She is survived by her niece, Anisa Brown, her nephew Shannon Allison (Christine) and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was and forever will be a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
