Vernon "Mac" McDowell, 99, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025. He was born on Wednesday, February 4, 1925, in Cushing, OK, to Thomas Henry McDowell and Dolly L. (Gephart) McDowell.

Mac was proud to have served in WWII in the United States Navy. He was the owner of Mac's Lock & Key Service, and he retired as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Mac enjoyed working with leather, making wallets and belts, and also woodworking. He was an avid outdoors man and liked to fish and hunt. When he and Ardis retired, they moved to Table Rock Lake in Missouri.

Mac is survived by his sons, Neil McDowell and wife, Susan, of Broken Arrow, OK, and Larry McDowell of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren Melissa Callaway and husband, Matthew, Morgan McDowell and fiance', Mike Marquart, Jennifer McDowell, and David McDowell and wife, Anna; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Beebe.

Mac was predeceased in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, upon her passing on May 13, 2014, Ardis Gayle (Malcolm) McDowell; his sister, Thelma McKinley; and a lifetime of friends.
