Vicki Lynn Wilkerson was born July 3, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma; she passed away December 23, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 72 years old.

Beloved parents were James Willard Wilkerson, Sr. and M. Juanita Houseberg Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, James Willard Wilkerson, Jr., "J.R." Also preceded by her brother-in-law, Brad Brown, and niece, Melissa Anne Page.

Survived by her siblings: Connie Kaye Page, Susan Marie Brown, Jackie Dawn Garland, Julie Fawn Knight, and Jeffrey David Wilkerson; brother-in-law, Scot Knight, and MANY beloved nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, and her faith never wavered.

She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa and from Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, OK. She attended a 12-week training course in Social Work and Mental Health Procedures at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX in 1972 and later training workshops in Albuquerque, NM and Tucson, AZ.

Although she had no children of her own, she provided unfailing love, support, and validation for all her nieces and nephews. Her vigilant concern for the well-being of others earned her the affectionate nickname "Miss Safety." Her kind, gentle spirit was a thing of rare beauty and will be remembered and missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She retired in 2013 after 41 years of service with the Indian Health Service. During those years, she worked at offices in Claremore, Ada, Concho, Clinton, and El Reno. This was the source not only of personal satisfaction in helping others, but also of treasured friendships and fun times.

Vicki loved family, friends, good food, favorite TV shows, and her collectibles - mainly Barbies. She was sentimental and cherished things that reminded her of loved ones and/or happy times of the past. She had a quick wit with great timing; she especially loved a good play on words, often delivered with a sly smirk as she waited for you to "catch" it.

She loved to travel with her special friends: best friend of almost 50 years, Madeline Narcomey; Nancy Johnson and husband Malcolm, and the late Frank Sheridan. They went to the Santa Fe Indian Art Market in Santa Fe, NM, and to the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market in Phoenix, AZ, where they helped Nancy with her booth, selling her beautiful artwork. These were highlights of her life.

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 28, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 South Memorial, Tulsa, Oklahoma, next to her parents and grandparents.
