Victor Evans Bartlett passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his home in Tulsa. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was an adventurous father, loving husband, doting grandfather and proud to be an Oklahoma Oilman. After graduating from Ardmore High School, Victor attended the University of Oklahoma. Upon returning from service in the Philippines, Victor graduated from East Central State.
During Victor's career in the Oil & Gas industry, he rose from Land Scout for Skelly Oil Company eventually leading to his position at retirement, Division General Manager and Vice President of Getty Oil Company. He served on the Boards of Tulsa Children's Medical Center, Tulsa YMCA, and Tulsa Parks among others. Victor was proud to be the president of the Oklahoma Landsman's association as well as president of the Mid Continent Oil & Gas Association.
Retirement allowed him and Betty, his wife of 62 years, to continue the international travel they loved. Most precious for them during this time was spending time with and watching their grandchildren grow up. Later years brought Vic and Betty back to Tulsa to watch over their ailing daughter. Victor's passions included golf, rooting on his Sooners, deep sea fishing and enjoying the ever present cigar.
Victor is preceded in death by his daughter Darla. He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Blane and Ron, and grandchildren Jason Holland, Kevin Bartlett and Kelli Weatherholt.
A memorial service will be held at Montereau at 11:15 A.M., Friday, October 16, 2015, followed the next day by an 11:00 A.M. graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at
