Violet Wynema Garrison, Homemaker, 94, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, died July 11, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on October 3, 1927 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Joseph and Daisy (Strait) Winters.
We would like to thank you all for joining us today, celebrating the life of our mother and grandmother, Violet Wynema Garrison. She was born on October 3, 1927, in Hominy, Oklahoma to Daisy and Joseph Winters. She passed on July 11, 2022. Wynema grew up and met the love of her life, Claude Garrison at the young age of 18. They would have 4 children. She is predeceased by her first born, Linda Berry in 1995, her son, Rickey Garrison in 2010 and her beloved husband, Claude Garrison in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Williams, her son Michael Garrison and spouse Rhonda, daughter-in-law Irene Garrison, 11 grandchildren and countless great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Her favorite past time was going to dances on the weekends with grandpa. She loved music. I remember when she wasn't watching her "stories", the radio would be on, always playing. She also collected dolls. She had an entire room dedicated to them... all kinds, cabbage patch dolls, vintage flappers, flamenco dancers and of course, her holiday barbies. It was her favorite room in the house and I, personally, would spend hours in there.
She loved going on bus trips to different casinos with grandpa and their friends. It seems like they were always planning on someplace new to go.
After grandpa passed, she would spend the 11 years waiting for the day that she could be reunited with her husband. She was always very loving towards us and never minded my brother and I joking around with her. She will be thought of fondly and greatly missed.
There are countless stories and memories that would take all the time in the world to share, so I will leave you with this:
Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you care
Feel no sorrow in a smile, that she is not here to share
You cannot grieve forever; she would not want you to
She'd hoped you can carry on, the way you always do
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared
The days you spent together and all the happiness you shared
